AP Committee Overview

The purpose of the Administrative/Professional Committee is:

  • to review and make recommendations on GVSU personnel policies affecting the AP staff
  • to review and make recommendations on GVSU decisions that affect AP staff
  • to act as a representative body for the AP staff

The recommendations made by the Committee will be reported to the appropriate executive officers.

 

SUBCOMMITTEES

There are four standing subcommittees that deal with prominent issues affecting AP staff – the Professional Development Subcommittee, Salary and Benefits Subcommittee, and Social Justice Subcommittee.  There is also an Awards subcommittee that organizes the annual awards that are presented at the AP Luncheon.

 

ANNUAL AP EVENTS

AP OPEN FORUM

The AP Open Forum is an annual event where AP staff have the opportunity, in an open discussion format, to discuss campus issues with the Executive Officers. In the past, issues included staffing, workloads, leadership, space, salary, University goals, long-range plans and other important issues. AP staff are encouraged to bring their questions to the meeting or email their questions to their AP representative.

 

AP LUNCHEON

The AP Luncheon is an annual event organized by the AP Committee for AP staff. It is an opportunity for AP staff to get together over lunch, listen to a great speaker and celebrate their contributions to Grand Valley. AP service awards are given during the luncheon.
