Welcome to a New Academic Year

The 2012 – 2013 academic year is underway at Grand Valley State University and the Alumni Association Board of Directors anticipates another great year filled with alumni participation. In fact, alumni and board members already demonstrated enthusiastic support by hauling boxes, lugging furniture, and moving microwaves into the living centers while welcoming students and parents on August 21 for Freshmen Move-In Day. Boy, were the parents excited to see us!
The entire year will offer a variety of opportunities, as we will seek alumni support in a number of ways: through your time serving on one or more Alumni Board of Directors committees; through your wisdom, by assisting any number of the professors looking for an alumnus that could guest lecture during an upcoming class; and through your financial support by giving generously, because it so important to ensure the future of GVSU students. Did you know that only a fraction of the university’s funding comes from the state? If every alumnus gave at least $5 each year we could raise over $400,000 annually. What a wonderful expression of support for our students, faculty, and university community.
Sincerely,
Julie Bulson, ’99 & ‘07
