Curtis, '85 & Christy, '85 Holt

The Holts have been affiliated with Grand Valley since their respective freshman years, and have maintained high levels of loyalty, support, and pride in the University for more than 25 years.  Active in a wide variety of University and alumni programs, both Curtis and Christy have served on several occasions in leadership capacities as members of the GVSU Alumni Association Board of Directors, and were members of the cabinet in the successful campaign to build the Alumni House and Visitor Center from 1998 to 2000.

Always willing to act and speak in behalf of Grand Valley, they are among GVSU's most visible and respected alumni ambassadors, and have served to bring the community and the University closer together through their strong allegiance.

The Holts met at Grand Valley as members of the "Karpanty's Kids" student workforce in the Athletic Department, under the supervision of former athletics administrator Dan Karpanty, now retired from Grand Valley.

Curtis, a GVSU Football alumnus, lends strength to the GVSU Football Alumni Association through his longtime membership and financial support of the organization.  He currently serves as city manager in Wyoming, Michigan.

Christy has been especially active in Board and committee work, has served many long hours as a volunteer at the annual All-Alumni Benefit Golf Outing, and helped with the annual Freshman Move-in Day.  Christy is employed by Wyoming Public Schools.

The Holts' have two high school-aged daughters, Hillary, 17, and Emily, 15, both of whom have followed their parents' good examples and served as volunteers at numerous GVSU alumni events.

Curtis and Christy Holt have strong allegiances to their alma mater, and set an outstanding example of pride, loyalty, and service through volunteerism, material support, leadership, and participation in special events whenever they are called upon.
