Ginny M. Seyferth, founder of SeyferthPR Inc., opened her own firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1984. She accepted the GVSU Distinguished Alumna award in 1996.

Ginny Seyferth founded SeyferthPR in 1984 after beginning her career in corporate and nonprofit health care public relations and public affairs. She brought extensive strategic counsel experience to her Michigan-based firm having practiced media relations and issues management in a number of cities throughout North America.

Today, SeyferthPR is recognized as one of the Midwest's leading public relations firms and Ginny’s counseling has extended to some of America’s top executives and companies and includes communication of acquisitions, corporate growth, new product introductions, product recalls, environmental and labor issues through traditional and social media.

Ginny has a passion for understanding how and why people think the way they do. She often works with CEOs to understand how the public will respond to an issue or how consumers will react to a new product or service. She is one of just a handful of public relations experts to have served 25 years as counsel to McDonald’s restaurants and as a member of the test-market team. Ginny has won numerous awards for her work on a number of product launches, including McDonald’s Premium Roast Coffee, McCafé and, most recently, Fruit & Maple Oatmeal.

She has also served of counsel to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for more than 20 years and has helped a diverse list of clients to set their ongoing, corporate communication directions, including Huntington Bank, Perrigo, Mercy Health Partners, the Detroit Medical Center, Cascade Engineering, Grand Valley State University and the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel Group, to name a few.

Ginny also has developed an extensive knowledge and understanding of how cities can help attract and retain young talent. She is well-versed in understanding the Millennial generation and this generation's connection to social media and interests in social responsibility and placemaking.
