Charlotte Worpel, '71
Grand Rapids native Charlotte Worpel, ‘71, graduated from Grand
Valley State University with B.A. in biology. In 1977, she received
her Doctor of Osteopathy from Kansas City College of Osteopathic
Medicine in Missouri. The following year, Worpel returned to Grand
Rapids and completed an internship and residency at the Osteopathic
Hospital in Metropolitan Hospital.
Throughout her career,
Worpel has been courtesy staff at Blodgett, Butterworth, and St.
Mary’s Hospitals. She has held memberships in such organizations as
the American Osteopathic Association, the Western Michigan Osteopathic
Association, the American Cancer Society, and the Western Michigan
Pediatric Society.
Worpel is currently the Michigan Chairman
of the Department of Pediatrics in Zeeland where she also has a
private practice. She and husband Curtis live there with their two children.
