GVSU Alumni Association Board of Directors
The GVSU Alumni Association Board of Directors is an advisory board, and the representative body of the Alumni Association. Board members act as a voice for the over 88,000 members of the alumni population and help shape the future of the University by making policy recommendations through the alumni relations office. The Board of Directors will create and maintain a long-range strategic plan for its own growth, development and governance of the organization, and work closely with the alumni relations office in administration of business, regular and special events. The Board will adhere strictly to the provisions of its own mission statement, and the university's mission statement.
The work of the Association’s Board of Directors is carried out through standing committees. These committees cover such areas as activities, awards, community outreach, and fundraising & scholarship.
The Board of Directors holds four meetings annually, typically in Allendale. At its meetings, the board transacts association business, and discusses the strategic direction of the Association and how to best involve alumni in the advancement of the university. In addition, the board frequently interfaces with students, campus administrators, community leaders, faculty and staff members.
