CHRIS BARBEE, '88

Chris originally came to Grand Valley after graduating from Mattawan High School in 1984. After receiving his B.S. in broadcasting, Chris was hired full-time at West Michigan Public Broadcasting where he served as a news and sports reporter for WGVU-AM/FM and as a producer-host of "GV Sports" for WGVU-WGVK-TV. From January 1994 until August 2002 he served as press secretary to Congressman Vern Ehlers of Grand Rapids. He began his duties as Director of Alumni Relations on August 19, 2002.

Chris and his wife Janice reside in Grand Rapids and have two daughters, Maya and Janelle.
