Assistant Director of Alumni Relations

ALEXIS RANGEL '10

Alexis came to Grand Valley State University after graduating from Arthur Hill High School in 2006 in Saginaw, MI. While at GVSU, she interned for the Athletic Department as the Marketing & Events Assistant and graduated with a B.S. in Hospitality and Tourism Management and a minor in Business in 2010. She started her career as Program Coordinator for the Center for Community Leadership, a program of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, and was later promoted to being the Chamber’s Programs & Events Manager. Alexis returned to her alma mater to take on the duties of Assistant Director of Alumni Relations in February 2013. 

Alexis is responsible for engaging and cultivating alumni through unique events and coordinates Homecoming, GradFest, regional alumni clubs & chapters and the Young Alumni Council. 

Alexis lives in Grand Rapids and enjoys running outside, hiking, traveling, and is an avid hotdog enthusiast. She currently serves on the board for the Hispanic Center of Western Michigan and NextGen, Heart of West Michigan United Way.
