Alumni Professionals Help Students
310 students attended the fifth annual Academic Major Fair, held November 3 at GVSU's Kirkhof Center to network with alumni, faculty and staff members about choices for a major and to receive advice on careers. The fair, co-sponsored by the Student Academic Success Center and Alumni Relations, focused on improving time-to-graduation rates for underclassmen which can reduce overall student financial burden. Alumni volunteers were on-hand to share information about career expectations, employment prospects and how to prepare for a chosen field. As an added bonus, the event provided an excellent venue for graduates to reconnect with former professors and fellow alumni.
