THE ALUMNI SERVICE AWARD

Grand Valley Alumni Service Awards are presented to recipients annually. A selection committee comprised of members of the Alumni Association Board of Directors meets in early fall of each year to select one or more deserving individuals. Nominations from alumni, faculty and staff members are encouraged, based on the criteria listed below:

The recipient must demonstrate outstanding service to GVSU. The recipient will normally be a GVSU graduate. The recipient must be present to receive the award. The nominator will remain anonymous.  No person will win the award more than once.


THE YOUNG ALUMNI AWARD

2011 Young Alumni Award Recipient

The Young Alumni Award was initiated in 2008 by the GVSU Alumni Association to recognize recent graduates who are making outstanding contributions to society, and whose accomplishments and careers reflect favorably upon Grand Valley. This prestigious award will be presented to alumni nominees selected by a panel of members of the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

 

THE DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD

Fall 2011 Distinguished Alumna

Michelle R. Troseth, '83 & '97 - Clinical Practice Model Resource Center, Grand Rapids.

Since 1985, the Grand Valley State University Alumni Association has selected Alumni Award winners, citing those alumni who have excelled in their chosen professions and reflected credit upon themselves, their communities and Grand Valley State University. The winners are selected by a panel of Directors of the Alumni Association, from a field of nominees presented by alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University. A winner is selected for the winter and spring commencement.


THE OUTSTANDING EDUCATOR AWARD

Fall 2011 Outstanding Educator
Dr. Felix N. Ngassa - Associate Professor of Chemistry 


This award is given annually to the Grand Valley State University faculty member who has had the most significant impact on the careers of alumni. A panel of members of the Grand Valley Alumni Association Board of Directors makes two selections each year.
