Fred is principal member of the law firm Hopkins, Yeager & Smith, P.C. From 1974 - 1986, Fred was an attorney with the Kalamazoo County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Michigan. During his tenure, he was in charge of the Intake/Warrant Division and plea negotiations for the office, Chief of the District Court Division, Chief Trial Attorney in charge of the Criminal Trial Division, and Chief of the Special Prosecutions Division. In addition to his duties as Assistant Prosecutor, he taught Business Law and various criminal law and procedure classes at Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
 
In 1986, Fred joined the law firm of Denenberg, Tuffley & Jamieson, P.C. where he became a shareholder in 1990. His practice involved all aspects of property insurance law.
In 1994, Fred joined the Boston based law firm of Morrison, Mahoney & Miller, LLP in their Grand Rapids office. In 1997, he became a partner in the firm. During his years in civil practice, Mr. Davison has litigated cases throughout the State of Michigan and in the States of Indiana, Iowa and Pennsylvania.
 
He joined Hopkins, Yeager & Smith, P. C. in 2000.
