Jennifer has worked in higher education for over ten years at Grand Valley State University. The past two years, she has served as the Director of the College of Community & Public Service Undergraduate Advising Center. In addition to this role, she serves as an adjunct faculty member in both the Liberal Studies department teaching Introduction to Liberal Education and in the School of Public and Nonprofit Administration teaching Leadership Dynamics. She earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Bowling Green State University. After moving to Michigan, she earned Master of Business Administration and Master of Education degrees from Grand Valley State University. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Educational Leadership, Higher Education emphasis at Western Michigan University. In addition to her involvement with the GVSU Alumni Association Board of Directors, she has held leadership positions at state and national levels in student affairs and academic advising professional organizations. She will begin her tenure as National Academic Advising Association Great Lakes Region V Chair in October 2009. Her research interests include student engagement, service learning, leadership development, and civic responsibility.
