Laker Women Athletes Celebrate 40 Years

Nearly 25 former female Laker athletes battled the weather to return to Allendale on February 21, 2009, and celebrate 40 Years of Excellence in women's athletics at GVSU. Guests met for a reception at the Alumni House and Visitor Center and heard from President Tom Haas, Athletic Director Tim Selgo and current and former coaches about the program. The group then toured the new Laker Turf Building before heading to the Laker Women's and Men's Basketball games vs. Saginaw Valley State Univeristy. Attendees were recognized during a special half-time celebration and presented with varsity letters to commemorate their contributions to Grand Valley's sports legacy.
