The Arts and Humanities Division has a full-time advisor to assist students interested in obtaining a teachable major in Arts and Humanities fields. This advising is intended to supplement but not replace the regular faculty advising by a student's major department.
The Arts & Humanities Teacher Certification Advising provides these services:
Serves as a resource for all teacher certification students in Arts and Humanities & their faculty advisors.
Evaluates the previous academic work of students who have degrees and who are interested in seeking teacher certification in one of the Arts & Humanities areas.
Evaluates the previous academic work of transfer students who wish to complete a teachable major in an Arts & Humanities content area.
Serves as liaison with the College of Education, coordinating interchanges between Arts & Humanities and Education
Organizes periodic workshops for teacher certification students, potential students, and their advisors.
