Transfer Student Orientation

Welcome to Grand Valley State University! As a new transfer student your next step is to schedule your advising/registration session. This session will give you the opportunity to meet one on one with an advisor from your intended major and register for classes. Later this summer you will be invited to an orientation program to learn more about the resources available to you as a Grand Valley student. The summer orientation program will give family members and guests a chance to visit the university with you.

Get started by scheduling your advising/registration session today. We look forward to seeing you on campus! Online reservations require a $50 credit card payment.

At this time, we encourage you to take a few moments to understand our degree requirements. For information regarding our general education requirements, please view the General Education Video. In addition, at you advising session, we will provide you with a copy of the Grand Valley General Education Guide Book. You may view this book online now. Please turn to pages 44 and 45 to see an overview of general education course requirements.
