Also join the Calvin College Community for chapel on April 16th from 10:00-10:20 a.m. - "Visiting a West African Slave Fort Through Dutch and African American Eyes" Marcus Rediker, "The Floating Dungeon: A History of the Slave Ship" (GVSU - Lecture Series) Thursday, April 19, 2007, 7 p.m. Loosemore Auditorium, DeVos Center Grand Valley State University, Pew Campus (downtown) Prof. Rediker teaches early American and Atlantic history at the University of Pittsburgh. He is currently working on a social history of the slave trade entitled The Slave Ship: A Human History (forthcoming fall 2007) |
