Dean Obeidallah Comedy Show
Wednesday February 22 at 7:00 pm (GVSU Cook-DeWitt Center, Allendale)
Dean Obeidallah is an award-winning stand up comedian and veteran of comedy projects like the “Axis of Evil Comedy Tour,” and “The Muslims Are Coming.” He will perform his stand-up comedy show at GVSU. Obeidallah was recently featured on NBC’s Rock Center and is a frequent commentator for CNN.com. Cost is FREE.
Soul Aviv
Concert
Sunday February 26 at 2:00 pm (Temple Emanuel)
Temple Emanuel is pleased to host a special concert of contemporary Jewish music featuring the amazing talents of Soul Aviv. They come from Santa Barbara, CA and sing in both Hebrew and English. Their music is infused with the sounds of folk, Motown, gospel and the great harmony groups of the 60’s and 70’s. The concert is open to the community and is for all ages. RSVP at 616.459.5976

Cinema for Reflection: God Around the World
Monday February 17 from 1:00-3:30pm OR from 6:30-7:45pm (Catholic Information Center)
February 27: The Message (Islam, 1977) The film follows Muhammad’s first years as a prophet. Starring Anthony Quinn, it portrays the essence of what Muslims believe about Muhammad and their faith
March 5: Of Gods and Men (Christianity, 2012) The film centers on the monastery of Tibhirine, where nine Trappist monks lived in harmony with the largely Muslim population of Algeria until seven of them were kidnapped and killed in 1996 during the Algerian Civil War.
